As a wedding day and affair planner, I am subject to more than my fair share of indignation and rage. You see, until people plan their first wedding day, they never think about how much wedding ceremonies cost. They wish to have low-cost wedding ceremonies, yet they also want to have all of the glitz & glamor. The problem is that, even if you purchase reasonably priced bridal dresses, cost-effective wedding day cakes, low priced bridesmaid gowns, and all the rest, it will still add up to lots of money. The bottom line is that, if you want to have that inexpensive wedding day, you need to be willing to make sacrifices.

I am not saying that having cost effective weddings is impossible. If you are willing to have a small wedding ceremony with just a few of your very closest friends there, you are able to do it for quite a realistic price. You can make it special by incorporating touches like top wedding songs. The issue is that, if having cost effective weddings is your intention, you need to plan everything around it. That means that you have to have a small guest list, make reservations at some reasonably priced place, have some low-cost wedding dress, rent a tuxedo for the groom, & play top wedding songs on a less expensive sound system, normally scrimp & save at every opportunity. Some of my customers have actually taken their own wedding day photographs to save on the cost of hiring a wedding photographer!

The bottom line is that the most reasonably priced weddings are done in a judge's office. Everything else which you do costs extra money. Some families go into debt for years because of what they spend on having a grand, extravagant wedding. To me, it looks like a pity. When I meet customers who really wish to have affordable wedding ceremonies, I tell them to have them in the back-yard. That way, they can save on wedding reservations - & play your top wedding songs on a boombox, if necessary! If they are really ambitious, they can even cater it themselves. If there are going to be more than 30 people there, however, this is generally not an incredibly good idea.

I suppose that it all depends on what you expect from your wedding day. When I first got married, all I desired was some straightforward ceremony to dedicate my love to my wife. If this is all that you wish as well, it is going to be quite easy for you to plan some cost effective wedding. If, on the flip side of the coin, you want to have an extravagant party with all of your friends and family, you'll have to pay for it.
